The addition will be comprised of poured concrete caisson foundations, a suspended basement concrete slab, underpinning along the existing school, masonry bearing concrete block walls, select steel posts and framing, hollow core floor slabs, OWSJ roof framing, and a five ply built up roof. Exterior cladding includes split face concrete block, corrugated metal siding, brick veneer cavity walls, aluminum composite panels, clear anodized aluminum windows and curtain walls with sealed units, spandrel panels, and metal flashing reveals and trim. The new exit stair in the addition shall be pre-cast concrete with poured in place concrete landings. The project also includes select renovations to the existing building.
Constructed so the floor level matches the level of the existing school floors. The fire sprinkler system addition will include a new fire pump and emergency generator.
The interior renovation is comprised of a new cubbies room, two full day kindergarten classroom renovations, a new kindergarten washroom, new hollow metal separation doors in an existing corridor and new hollow metal doors to the existing gymnasium. As well as, select childcare renovations.
The existing asphalt parking area will be altered and enlarged to accommodate the new addition.
